Rising Star Columbus Chefs Cook for a Good Cause

This month, seven of the city's up-and-coming chefs will tag team on a multi-course dinner for a cause. Called Eat Up! Columbus, the seven-course dinner at St. Charles Preparatory School on Nov. 15 benefits Freedom a la Cart-a nonprofit caterer that employs victims of human trafficking. "Eat Up! started as an underground supper club a couple of years ago," says Keturah Schroeder, Freedom a la Cart managing director. Though Schroeder expects 300 to attend, guests will be seated at long family-style tables in a nod to the intimate dinner party feel of the original Eat Up! meals.
Culinary creatives making dinner include Dustin Brafford of The Crest, Deborah Quinci of Freedom a la Cart, Miki Ashino and Eric Allen of Tokyo GoGo and Brothers Drake Meadery, Patrick Caskey of Skillet, Tom Kimura of Kihachi, Julian Menaged of The Market Italian Village and Jessica Bryant of Pistacia Vera. Food will be paired with Ohio wines, beers and spirits. Tickets are $150 per person. eatupcolumbus.org
