Foodie Event: Tastes of the Midwest

What is Midwestern cuisine? This was the challenge posed to five chefs for a collaborative dinner that recreated grandma's cooking with a chef's touch. Chefs Alana Shock (Alana's Food and Wine), Bill Glover (Gallerie Bar & Bistro), Tom Smith (The Worthington Inn) and Andrew Smith (Salt & Pine) and baker AJ Perry (Sassafras Bakery) deliciously dressed up regional classics such as Johnny Marzetti, kroppkaka dumplings and Hoosier pie. The memorable dinner benefited Slow Food Columbus, raising money to send Central Ohio delegates to Slow Food's biennial Terra Madre conference in Italy.
