After hours with Lauren Meder

Lauren Meder spends her time at Lomonico's Downtown serving salads and sauvignon blancs tableside and across the bar. The Cleveland native has been with the Italian eatery (known for its wood-fired pizzas) since it opened. The 15-year service industry veteran chose Lomonico's because of its family-friendly hours. "I have a son, and it helps that I'm not at work until 2 or 3 in the morning." Here's where Meder spends her time when she's not behind the bar.

Dive Bar: El Camino Inn. "It's nostalgic, dark and quiet. I don't need to go to a bumping place. That scene is long past me. They have a late-night menu and $2 cans of Tecate."

Upscale Bar: The Wine Bistro in Worthington. "They offer wines by the glass, but you can also choose a bottle off the wall. They'll open it for you. They do retail and restaurant. The food's good and so is the service."

Special Occasion Restaurant: Mitchell's Ocean Club. "I'm a seafood lover. They do it right there. Usually I leave it to the chef and order whatever's on special. I always like places like that."

Takeout: Iron Grill in Clintonville. "Their barbecue is to die for. Their pulled pork is amazing. One night during the week, they offer $5.99 burgers that you can get for takeout. Order, it's ready in 15 minutes and you're out the door."

Guilty Pleasure: Seventh Son. "I'll grab the Humulus Nimbus with a grapefruit tequila slushie. It will knock you off your socks. It's amazing."
