After Hours: Jennifer Burroway of La Chatelaine

As the morning manager of La Chatelaine's Worthington location, she oversees all breakfast and lunch operations for the French café and occasionally dreams up posts for the restaurant's social media. And while Burroway's not shy about her love of the perfect summer BLT (with homegrown tomatoes from her garden), she's often heading around town to dine with her husband and daughter. We asked her where she spends her afternoons and evenings.

Fine dining: Mitchell's Ocean Club. “While I love the restaurant, I have particular fondness for a specific evening I was there. I was out on the patio listening to the echoes of Red, White & Boom off in the distance, while enjoying Champagne and raw oysters. It was perfect.”

Carryout: “I love the simplicity of Sweet Carrot. My family and I have a special love for their corn cakes and their scratch sugar cookies.”

Coffee shop: The Roosevelt Coffeehouse. “If I had to pick one word to describe my affection for Roosevelt, it would be ‘Smoretado.'”

Food truck: Sophie's Gourmet Pierogi. “This is not only my favorite truck, but it's my favorite place to eat. I wait for it to be on my side of town and jump on it. They do some magic with handmade pierogis. The one topped with pork belly is my favorite. But I also love the huevos rancheros with chorizo, caramelized onions and a fried egg. So good.”
