After Hours: Amanda Anderson of Hills Market Downtown

Amanda Anderson, the wine and cheese director at the Hills Market Downtown, is responsible for the store’s wine and beer offerings, charcuterie and cheese selections and social media presence. Gluten-free since 2012, Anderson loves spending time cooking new recipes and experimenting with gluten-free baked goods—especially biscuits. We asked the Northland resident where she likes to eat and drink.

Breakfast: “The Pancake House in Westerville. It has a family feel. They have something on the menu called a sausage steak, and it’s awesome.”

Special Occasion:Basi Italia. I love everything they make there. They have gluten-free pasta.”

Carryout:Ranchero Kitchen Salvadoran restaurant on Morse Road. If I’m in a hurry and need something to hit the spot, I grab a few pupusas. They also have great breakfast and taco options, and, oddly enough, delicious chicken wings.”

Ethiopian: “I like Addis Restaurant on Cleveland Avenue. The owners are nice, and they have a delicious, whole fried fish that I love to treat myself to occasionally.”

Cocktails:Asterisk Supper Club in Westerville. They have incredibly thoughtful cocktails, the ambiance is nice, and the menus are books. And they have non-alcoholic cocktails that are good, too.”
