Bowling for Birthday Fun

Melissa Kossler Dutton

Looking to bowl over your child on his or her birthday? Suggest a party at Ten Pin Alley in Hilliard. The upbeat venue offers several birthday packages, which appeal to kids and parents, said marketing assistant Rachel Heit.

Kids enjoy bowling because most of them don't do it regularly, Heit said, adding, "It's fun. It's a novelty for most kids. It's an equalizer. Most (kids) are at about the same skill level."

Parents will appreciate the ease of hosting parties at the bowling alley, where food service and clean-up are part of the package.

Bowling parties also are a great way to plan an active party in the winter when it's too cold to send kids outdoors, Heit said: "There's some working out involved."
