Raspberry Bars

1-3/4 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup margarine, room temperature

1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar

1-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats

1 cup seedless raspberry jam

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 13-by-9-inch pan.

Whisk flour, salt and soda together in a large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, cream margarine and brown sugar in a small bowl until fluffy. Stir in flour mixture and oats (mixture will be somewhat crumbly).

Press about half the crumb mixture into the prepared pan. Carefully spread the jam over the crust. Crumble the remaining crumb mixture over the top, pressing gently into the jam.

Bake until nicely browned, about 20 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
