But why should you even bother buying organic clothes? Traditionally grown cotton requires approximately 25 percent of total insecticides used and more than 10 percent of the pesticides used in modern farming. Organically grown cotton is not treated with pesticides, herbicides or petroleum based fertilizers, nor does it use genetically-engineered seed. Translation: lots of chemicals and other stuff that goes into the ground and the fibers of other clothes don't go into these clothes and don't rub against your baby.
