Last week, I watched Katherine (my Katherine not the late Hepburn) moderate a candidate's night. She was clear, concise and exacting. A former university professor, her diction is to be envied, as is her gorgeous white hair.

She held the attention of the candidates and the audience, kept the program moving crisply and explained the occasionally complex rules. It was an example of "woman in charge" and I loved it! While not a League event, part of the credibility Katherine brought to the table was her long-time involvement with the League of Women Voters.

I want to be her when I grow up.
