Boo at the Zoo:
This delightfully haunting Halloween celebration at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium offers dozens of candy stations, spooky entertainment, special animal programs and even a haunted train ride and a "scareousel." Children are welcome to dress in costume; adults must have a child with them to be costumed. Fridays, October 17 and 24 from 5- 9 p.m., Saturdays, October 18 and 25 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sundays October 19 and 28 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Fourth annual Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Red Nose Children's Run:
This marathon is not just for big kids! There's everything from a diaper dash for 1- to 3-year-olds to a full mile race for 12- to 14-year-olds. A wheelchair division is included for little ones plus, a Ringling Bros. clown will be in attendance to clown around and have fun. The first 500 kids who register receive a free voucher for a ticket to a weeknight performance to the circus when it comes to town in May, 2009.
The Children's Activity Expo runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Children's Run starts at 1 p.m.; $8 registration fee ($4 each for groups of 25 or more). For more information or to register, visit www.columbusmarathon.com and click on children's run.

All Hallows Eve:
Visitors can come and experience a family-style, 19th century Halloween celebration at the Ohio Village, 1982 Velma Ave., located at 17th Ave. and First Ave. The event is from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. and again on October 25. Octagon Earthworks Open House:
