Dining by Design: Cocktail Hour
Reserving a 10-person table at Dining by Design's gala dinner could run you a cool $10,000, but the charity event has another, more affordable option for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere and support a good cause.
Held at 7 p.m. Friday, the night before the main event, Cocktails by Design will feature food from 11 local restaurants paired with Castello di Gabbiano wines and Stoli mixers.
You'll get to peep the glorious seating arrangements, sample fare at each one, enter a silent auction and enjoy live music. All-inclusive tickets cost $75.
"It's a great fit for us," said Katharine Moore, executive director of Dine Originals, a coalition of homegrown Columbus eateries. "[We liked] the fusion of who it was benefiting and how the food was being showcased. Sometimes the food can get lost in the event."
Moore said Cocktails by Design will highlight the diverse offerings of the city's vibrant culinary scene.
"It's a fun mix," she added. "When you get food from The Refectory and Tip Top, you have run the gamut."
Public viewing will also be available, sans food and drink, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. Open house tickets cost $10.
