Columbus School for Girls Jubilee!

Money raised as a result of Jubilee goes exclusively toward scholarships. Approximately 25 percent of students benefit from this fund in the form of financial aid. Enjoy the gala and silent auction on Friday, October 9 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $300 per couple. At the gala you can meet Richard Cowdrey, the illustrator of the book, Bad Dog, Marley, by John Grogan. You also can shop the Marketplace, Friday - Sunday, October 9 --11, 10 a.m. -- 5 p.m., for just $5. Shop unique gift items from over 50 boutiques from around the country. Also, the Phoenix Children's Theatre will present The Paper Bag Princess on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11 at noon and 2 p.m. performances each day. Tickets are $25. Columbus Italian Festival and Parade

The annual Columbus Italian Festival presented by Saint John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church at the corner of Lincoln and Hamlet in Italian Village celebrates the Italian-American culture. Enjoy live entertainment, open-air markets, Italian dancing, a children's area and plenty of fabulous Italian food -- including a pizza cook-off. Plus, there's an American-Italian Idol vocal contest with an adult and youth division, and bocce ball tournaments. The Columbus Italian Parade will kick off on Sunday at 2 p.m. and will march right through the heart of Italian Village -- through the festival to the main stage where each high school band in the parade will perform. The festival is Friday from 5-11 p.m., Saturday from noon-11 p.m. and Sunday from noon-8 p.m. Parade is on Sunday at 2 p.m. Adults $5 and children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Harvest Festival 2009

Come to this free festival and enjoy pumpkins, crafts, alpacas, entertainment, a blacksmith, duck pond and a lollipop tree. Take part in this fall fun at Doran's Farm Market, 5462 Babbitt Rd., from 10 a.m. -- 4 p.m. For more information call (614) 775-6222.

Homestead Harvest

It isn't fall without hayrides and pumpkins. Our annual two-day festival offers fun activities for all ages. Enjoy hay wagon rides, kids' tattoos, games, food, pony rides, mini train rides and pumpkin decorating. Saturday, compete in a scarecrow-making contest. Bring old clothes and your imagination and we'll supply the stake, straw and some decorations. Admission is free.
