Magnolia Thunderpussy

1155 N. High St., Short North

At this point it's old news that many music fans have forsaken record stores in favor of online shopping or illegal downloads. But Mags makes your visits worthwhile, boasting a staff as knowledgeable and diverse as any team in town and a selection to match.

It's a completist's dream shop, with an inventory that digs deeper than it has to. Racks are stuffed full of rarities and imports, and if there's a hot new underground release, chances are you'll find it here. (We're talking legitimately underground, not the Pitchfork faves on the Best Buy end display, though Mags has those too.)

And let's be honest: The parking lot is pretty damn convenient.
