The atmosphere:
An open and airy French-American bistro, with a lovely patio for soaking up the sun in the warmer months. Inside, the feeling is chic and convivial, with white tablecloths, mosaic tiled floors and pressed-tin ceilings. Plenty of windows look out onto the Easton crowds.
The food:
Go ahead and splurge--you won't regret it. Bon Vie offers a diverse selection of salads, pasta dishes, crepes and sandwiches, but the best picks are also the most indulgent--towering piles of hand-cut French fries, eggy quiches and delectable desserts.
The Roquefort Frites are a must-order appetizer for the table. The plate of golden brown fries features the amazing combination of crumbled blue cheese, creamy horseradish sauce and crunchy potato.
Follow them up with the Quiche Lorraine--a sinfully rich pie studded with bacon, Swiss and caramelized onion, all surrounded with flaky crust. It's served with a small salad of greens, Roma tomatoes, red onion and chopped egg, topped with creamy Parmesan dressing.
Definitely plan to linger over coffee and dessert. A sampler platter comes with your pick of shot-glass-sized portions of sweet things--there's tangy Key lime pie, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, coconut cream pie and a great chocolate tort topped with vanilla anglaise and fresh berries.
Roquefort frites and quiche lorraine are tasty choices.
