"God of War" sucks. Give me "Q-Bert" any day.

Retro games have garnered such a large fan base, you can now download most of your favorite titles on the new systems. But there's still nothing like white-knuckling that Atari joystick or mashing the stiff buttons of the Nintendo controller.

Here's your chance at hours of arthritic amusement - the second-annual CORGS-CON, a convention celebrating all things old-school in the gaming world, is set for Saturday. Attendees can play classic arcade and pinball machines or test their skills against the best in a host of tournaments - "Donkey Kong," "Dig Dug," "NBA Jam" and more. Meanwhile, hundreds of up-and-coming programmers will present their retro creations and compete for the best homebrew game.

When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 15

Where: Oakland Park Community Building, North Side
