25 Things to Do Before Labor Day
16. Pass a high-ropes course
Summit Vision
This adventure facility offers ropes courses, giant swings, zip lines, orienteering, scavenger hunts and a climbing tower. It specializes in corporate team-building and day camps, but owner Trey McBane runs regular events for individuals after a thrill.
17. Pick fresh berries
Champaign Berry Farm
Nothing beats walking down a country road and eating a handful of berries off the bramble. To experience this great pleasure, head to Champaign Berry Farm, which specializes in pick-your-own raspberries. The black and red varieties usually ripen from the last week of June until the third week of July.
18. Watch a drive-in movie
South High Twin Drive-In
This South Side legend celebrates two of our favorite summer pastimes: motion pictures and driving around. From roughly Memorial Day to Labor Day, each of two screens shows a nightly double feature, with start times dependent on sunset. Adult admission costs $8.
19. Play hooky
Huntington Park
Nothing beats baseball while the sun's still out - especially when you're supposed to be at work. This season, the Clippers will play four more weekday games before 5 p.m.: 4:05 p.m. Monday, May 31; 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, June 2; 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, June 15; and 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4.
20. Grab a mojito
Northstar Cafe
You might not think of alcohol when hitting this chic Short North food spot, but Northstar serves one of the city's tastiest adult beverages. The Ginger Mojito combines the root's spicy zing with muddled mint, plenty of lime slices and a shot of rum.
