It has become a Thankgiving tradition in Columbus: Get up an ungodly hour, run 5 miles with a couple thousand other people, score a Kroger pumpkin-pie reward, and then brag at the big family dinner about your mad athletic skillz.
The Chase Columbus Turkey Trot is that tradition and this year Columbus Parent is again enabling, we mean, sponsoring the family-friendly portion of the events. In addition to the 5-mile run, which starts at 9 a.m., there’s also a Columbus Parent 2-mile “Walk ‘N Talk” (during which you can talk about best to deal with Uncle Bob and Aunt Becky who are doing the 5-miler) at 9 a.m. AND a free 100-yard McDonald’s Tot Trot at 8:30 a.m.
Everything starts and finishes at The Shops at Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington. The cost is $35 for pre-registered adults ($40 day of the race) and free for pre-registered kids. Proceeds benefit Easter Seals. Go to www.columbusturkeytrot.com for more information.
