Facing the holidays after the loss of a loved is difficult. Grief experts say finding ways to honor deceased friends and family members during the holidays can make them more tolerable. Here are some suggestions for remembering a loved one:

  • Light a candle and say a prayer for him or her.
  • Make a donation in the person's name to a charity or cause he or she supported.
  • Ask friends and family members to write a memory of the person and share them when the family is gathered together.
  • Make the person a part of the celebration by talking about him or her during the holidays.
