Pickerington Ponds Metro Park is designated an Important Bird Area by conservation group Audubon Ohio, and one extra-special section has been set aside as a state nature preserve. That means the park is prime real estate for finding the first signs of spring.

Those on Sunday afternoon's guided three-mile hike will journey off the trail to find singing frogs and migrating birds. Wear clothes and shoes capable of withstanding brushy, marshy conditions. Meet at the Glacier Knoll Picnic Area, located north of Wright Road on Bowden Road.
