All restaurants come with expectations. For instance, in sports bars, you just wanna munch on competent junky stuff to help the games go down. But this new sports pub (it opened in November) offers unexpected extras like: homemade chorizo stuffed into unfried, blistered jalapenos; (mildly) spice-rubbed chickens "rotisseried" right in front of your eyes (smartly, that meat turns up in lots of menu items); a kick-ass carnitas sandwich with slow-roasted pork and pickled onions; and an impressive homemade apple cake created from the 75-year-old recipe of the chef's granny.
