Curly Girl

"I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world." I have the Curly Girl Design magnet that says that on my desk, and I’ve started a small collection of them for my mom, too. I’ve never met Leigh Standley, the obviously spunky and fabulous designer behind the work. But I already know that I love her.

If you haven’t seen her work--her magnets, her cards, her canvases--make it a point to do so. I promise they will make you (and all the women you adore) smile. Better yet, make a trip to Helen Winnemore Craft in German Village on Saturday to check them out ... and meet Leigh in person. (She'll be there from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

The gift shop (which carries a great selection of Curly Girl goodies) is bringing Leigh in for the day to meet and greet her biggest fans. (And while you're there, take a minute to also meet Sarah Kellenberger Harpham, the shop's owner. She's one of the more lovely women I know.)
