Sandwiches at The Angry Baker
Situated in the quickly-revitalizing-but-still-feels-a-little-like-you're-in-"The Wire" neighborhood of Olde Towne East, right across from Yellow Brick Pizza, The Angry Baker is a fantastic new lunch spot definitely worth seeking out. The lunchtime sandwiches, served on fantastic baked-in-house brioche, are all excellent. The Pot Roast Bleu, above, with beef from Pataskala's Bowers and Sons, creamy bleu cheese, horseradish slaw and caramelized onions, is a new contender for the city's best pot roast sandwich. (Here's hoping they give this occasional special permanent menu status.)
The White Cheddar is topped with bacon and gets some sweetness with sliced pears and arugula.
One of several vegan options, the PBLT is made with portobello "bacon," lettuce, tomato and an interesting vegan aioli.
