OK, the film reviews may have not been great, but that didn’t stop the “Green Lantern” movie from being the No. 1 movie at the box office last weekend. And it isn’t stopping the producrs from releasing a video game to go with it. Our intrepid games reviewer, Shawn Sines, tells us what he thinks of it, plus about the video fame that ties into the next Transformers movie….

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters ($60, Xbox 360, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii, DSi & 3DS, Rated T for Teen) Along with the big screen treatment fans of the Emerald Knight can expect a video-game tie in.

In the Rise of the Manhunters, Hal Jordan(voiced by Ryan Reynolds), newly appointed Green Lantern of Earth faces intergalactic enemies across the universe in his role of space cop and protector. Expect action and lots of green energy to fly in this original storyline set after the movie.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon ($60, Xbox 360, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii, DSi & 3DS, Rated T for Teen) There is always more than meets the eye in any Transformer game and this movie game continues the successes of last year’s excellent Battle for Cybertron with good visuals, reactive and fun controls and a fun multiplayer mode based upon the third Transformers movie. Multiplayer is also included for some metal busting competitive play.
