Lunch: Sidecar at Pearl Market

Shelley Mann, Columbus Alive

Grabbed lunch today from Sidecar, the catering arm of Barcelona, who also sells sandwiches from a booth at Pearl Market each week. Today's offerings were an Italian Sub (that's what I ordered), a Roast Turkey sandwich and a Caprese, with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. They're charging $8 for a sandwich a choice of side.

The sandwich was good: slices of Genoa salami, smoked ham, provolone and mozzarella with juicy red tomato slices, lettuce and pepperoncini. I wish the soft ciabatta bun had been toasted, but that was my only complaint.

On the side, I went for the pretty Mediterranean Vegetable Salad, with cucumbers, tomatoes and red peppers marinated in a red wine vinaigrette. Great alternative to chips!

On the way back to the office, I couldn't pass up a glass of ZenCha iced tea. I picked the Desert Oasis, an African red tea with notes of strawberry and vanilla. Yum, and so refreshing on a hot afternoon like today.
