Our big back-to-school issue starts hitting pick-up locations on Monday and by Thursday, they’ll be at all 1,200 of them. As always, just click here to find the pick-up location nearest to you.

In addition to all kinds of Family Fun ideas, our writers have taken a closer look at some school-related topics that are near and dear to many parents' hearts: avoiding the overscheduling trap, figuring out when a child is old enough to need and responsibly use a cell phone, looking at whether it’s OK to use rewards for good report cards, and -- one of our personal favorites -- when and how to get kids to pack their own school lunch. There’s lots of food for thought in the August issue.

Which reminds us — the Clintonville bakery, Food for Good Thought, celebrates its one-year anniversary tomorrow. You might remember them from last October’s “Cooking with Kids” article where bakery owner Audrey Todd showed us how she uses baking as a learning tool with her son Liam Bogner who has autism. We're proud to announce that the article also won first place for food writing out of all Ohio publications (newspapers and magazines) from the Press Club of Cleveland. It was a great story to tell and we hope you’ll support a great community business (located at 4185 N. High St.) that not only makes delicious food but helps other people with autism learn a profession.
