Park of Roses

3923 N. High St., Clintonville

One of the greatest things the City of Columbus has ever done was to conserve a series of greenspaces along the Olentangy River north of Downtown and turn them into a necklace of popular parks. The crown jewel of this eco-friendly legacy is the Park of Roses, a 13-acre expanse just west ofthe Whetstone Public Library. Essentially a dream garden that you don't have to personallymaintain, it features 11,000 rose bushes and specialized collections of herbs, daffodils andperennials. Things really explode during the peak bloom from mid-June to early September, but thepark's appeal withstands even the blusteriest conditions.
