Staff pick: Joan Rivers at the Capitol Theatre

Jesse Tigges, Columbus Alive

Joan Rivers has one of the most accomplished careers in Hollywood, which is impressive considering there's not one person in that town who hasn't been the butt of one of her irreverent jokes. She's an Emmy Award winner, a best-selling author and was the first person to guest host "The Tonight Show." Hell, she even makes "Fashion Police" on E! watchable, and it's got Kelly Osbourne. For four decades she's been one of the funniest and most respected comedians in the industry. Maybe the longevity is because she's been rebuilt like the Six Million Dollar Man … by 6 million doctors. Whatever the reason, when Rivers comes to Columbus, an icon will put on one of the best stand-up sets you'll ever witness.
