Bareclay Studio Summer Programs for Kids
June through August, session dates and times vary; Bareclay Studio has been a hands-on pottery-teaching facility for 18 years. Students can focus on learning how to use the potter's wheel, clay hand-building techniques, glazing and sculpting. Some activities for kids can include clay, mixed media and collaborative art projects. Bareclay also offers scouting merit-badge workshops, birthday parties and adaptive programming for people with disabilities.

Beardsley Conservatory of Dance'sAmerican Doll Camp
July 15-19, July 29-Aug. 2, Aug. 12-16, 10am-12 noon; fast-paced dance camp in which the students' dolls will be the primary focus, instruction will cover the basics of ballet and jazz, activities will include creative projects and crafts. A mini-performance of the movements learned will cap off the week. Dancers are asked to bring their favorite doll.

City of Worthington's Club W Day Camp
June 10-Aug. 9, Club W is a themed weekly day camp, from 9 a.m,-4 p.m. with before-care from 7:30 a.m. and after-care until 5:30 p.m., includes active and passive games, imaginative projects, fitness activities, interactive learning situations, swimming at the Community Center and a weekly field trip.

City of Worthington's Day Trip Camps
July 1, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Canoeing day trip to Big Darby Creek with a stop along the way for a swim, includes instruction in paddling; July 2, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Horseback Riding day trip to Marmon Valley Farm, includes instruction, lunch, visits with farm animals and an hour-long trail ride will fill your day; July 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sailing day trip (weather dependent) to Hoover Reservoir, includes instruction. All activities appropriate for beginners. Transportation is provided for all day trips.

Dates vary, 9-11:30 a.m. for tennis camps, 9 a.m.-12 noon for morning camps, 1-4 p.m. for afternoon camps; camps focus on sports skills (tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, boys and girls basketball) and multiple activities (art, athletics and swimming);

Grove City Parks and Recreation's PlayZone Day Camp
June 24-Aug. 1, day camp on Mondays through Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; active outdoor games, art projects, off-site trips and special activities focus on developing self-esteem, independence and strong social skills. Participants must have completed kindergarten, will need to pack own lunch.

Haugland Learning Center Summer Activities Camp
June 10-Aug. 2, full-day, 9 a.m.-4:15 p.m. For special-needs students with a focus on social development though swim lessons, athletic games, arts and crafts, and community outings. UPDATE FROM MARCH ISSUE: There will be no half-day option.
Cost: $268 per week with a $32 non-refundable activity fee per week. Level 1 and I/O waiver accepted as well as private pay.

Jazz Academy at the Jazz Arts Group's Summer Camps
Camp Blues: June 10-14, introduces students, ages 11 through adult, to the blues through teaching and performance, led by the Sean Carney Band, focus is on guitar, bass and drums and their roles in this music form, as well as performance techniques. Final performance will take place at the Gahanna Creekside Jazz and Blues Festival on June 14.
Camp Jazz: July 15-19, designed for students, ages 16+, with an interest in jazz who wish to explore the music through learning and performance. This camp will provide opportunity for lessons, classes, rehearsals, and will feature a final performance at the Jazz and Ribs Festival. Students must have experience playing saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar or drum set and have some previous knowledge of jazz

Little Lambs Children's Center Summer Camp 2013
June 10-Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays; this camp, which is a ministry of the Shepherd Church of the Nazarene has weekly themes, field trips, water days, trips to the pool and special events (demonstrations and activities).Before-care, after-care and hot nutritious lunches are included in the tuition from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The facility has two full-sized, air-conditioned gyms and three playgrounds. Parents can register for only 8 of the 10 weeks of camp and can choose the weeks.

Shepherd's Corner Ecology CenterDay Camp
June 24-28 and July 15-19; Shepherd's Corner is an ecology center run by the Dominican Sisters of Peace, but the camp, now in its fourth year, is secular and focused on earth science. The center is a 160-acre natural oasis in Blacklick, featuring naturally farmed gardens, free-range turkeys and chickens, sheep, a llama, a labyrinth, greenhouses, beehives, walking trails and woods. Camp participants will have the opportunity to meet the animals, explore the grounds, and discover how various organisms and creatures contribute to our life on earth. Lessons include animal tracking, clay and glazing, wetlands, stream exploration, gardening, and more. Each camp is limited to 20 students.

The Little Gym Anytime Summertime Kids' Camp
Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays from 1-4 p.m. and Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Can sign up for single day or full week sessions. Vertical Adventures
Full- and half-day weekly session throughout the summer and during school holidays; Vertical Adventures, Central Ohio's first indoor rock climbing gym (opened in 1994), offers day camps that provide an introduction to the sport of rock climbing. Craft projects and games are added in to give tired muscles a rest. Fun climbing-related activities include slack lining and milk crating stacking.

West Ohio United Methodist Camps
June 9-Aug. 4, overnight sessions available; West Ohio United Methodist Camps have offered Christian birth, growth and renewal for more than 50 years.Three locations, each ACA-accredited, with age- and developmentally appropriate activities and faith-forming programs.
