The Disney on Ice diaper drive for the YWCA Family Center is becoming quite the tradition in central Ohio: This Saturday, Jan. 18, marks the seventh year that Feld Entertainment, the producers of Disney on Ice, will host their free-ticket exchange for diapers.

From 10 a.m. until 12 noon tomorrow, you can bring an unopened package of disposable diapers (the YWCA Family Center is especially in need of pull-up diapers in sizes 4, 5 and 6) to COSI and you will receive a free ticket voucher for two tickets to see Disney on Ice's "Princesses & Heroes" show on either Feb. 5 or 6 at Nationwide Arena.

"This will be the seventh year we have held the 'Diaper Drive' and in the six previous years we've collected nearly 20,000 diapers for YWCA's Family Center. The Family Center needs approximately 4,000 each month to serve our families," said Jessica Wichtman-Will, Community Relations and Volunteer Manager of the YWCA Family Center. "The Family Center provides emergency food and shelter for homeless families in addition to resources that help them find permanent housing, often within three weeks of entering the shelter. Especially in this economy, we are grateful for the partnerships that make it possible for us to serve these families."

According to Wichtman-Will, the YWCA Family Center has seen a 70% increase over the past 3 years in the number of families it serves.
