Columbus Children's Theatre's production of "Hansel and Gretel" opens this Thursday at their Park Street Theatre near the North Market, and runs through May 11. The Park Street Theatre is located at 512 Park St., Columbus 43215.

This beloved German Fairytale will delight the entire family. Lost in the woods while looking for food, Hansel and Gretel find a Gingerbread house that looks good enough to eat; however, the house is occupied by a nearsighted old lady who has her own ideas about what is for lunch. Only the participation of the audience can help Hansel and Gretel escape.

Of special note is their sensory-friendly performance of "Hansel and Gretel," which will take place on Sunday, April 27 at 5 p.m.

CCT's sensory-friendly shows feature adjustments to their productions so that audiences can enjoy the story without fear of sudden changes in lighting and volume. They also do not assign seating so that the audience can choose their own seats, they keep house lights on slightly, which allow audience members to exit the theatre easily and safely, and they also provide craft activities and a quiet space in the lobby that can be used before and during a performance.

The show is recommended for ages 3 and up. Reservations are highly recommended. Tickets range from $13-$21. For more information, call Columbus Children's Theatre Box Office at 614-224-6672 or visit
