Columbus Commons for Kids

Starting tomorrow, Commons for Kids at the Columbus Commons is back! Friday mornings, Columbus Commons transforms into a free family fun zone, with activities for children of all ages, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At every Commons for Kids, children can take a ride on the Columbus Commons Carousel, bounce on inflatables, try their hand at a life-size chess game, compete in a friendly round of corn hole, and let their creativity run wild with the Imagination Playground. When weather permits (temperature is above 80 degrees), children are encouraged to bring swimsuits for the inflatable water slide.

At most Commons for Kids events, The Columbus Metropolitan Library's Bookmobile will be on site and the Library will host a story time in the Columbus Commons Reading Room sponsored by Highlights for Children. Special activities are planned on an ongoing basis and are updated on the Commons for Kids page at and on Facebook at

Parking is available at the Columbus Commons Garages, with locations at 55 Rich Street or 191 S. Third Street. Commons for Kids takes place every Friday through Aug. 29, except for July 4, Aug. 8 and Aug. 15.
