The CAPA Summer Movie Series is back!

It's the longest-running classic film series in America (44 years and counting!) and the 2014 series runs from June 6 through Aug. 10 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St).

Twenty-eight films in all will be shown, including the popular Cartoon Capers programs on Saturday, June 21, and Saturday, July 19. Both showings will begin at 10 a.m. and feature classic Warner Brothers and MGM cartoons.

The series opens June 6-8 with Superman (the 1978 version with Christopher Reeve). Some classic family-fave titles worth pointing out: The Little Princess (Shirley Temple!) on June 25; Neptune's Daughter (Esther Williams!) on July 9; Hitchcock's North by Northwest on July 12-13; Girl Shy (Harold Lloyd silent with live organ accompaniment!); and Oliver! on Aug. 9-10.

CAPA Summer Movie Series ticket strips, one of central Ohio's best entertainment bargains, can be purchased now through Sunday, July 27, at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.) or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Strips of 10 tickets are $25, a savings of $1.50 per ticket off day-of-show prices. Phone orders for strip tickets can be placed by calling (614) 469-0939.

Day-of-show tickets to individual films are $4 and go on sale one hour prior to show time at the Ohio Theatre kiosk. Senior citizen tickets are $3.50. Kiosk sales are cash only.

Young people between the ages of 13-18 may purchase a $5 Summer Movie Series pass as part of the All Access program. The pass admits the young person to an unlimited number of movie screenings during the 2014 season and can be purchased online at www.gofor5.com. Students who wish to attend an R rated film must be accompanied by an adult.

All tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
