Powell Shops Local

A long, cold winter-followed by a months-long closure of State Route 750, which runs through downtown Powell-has left Powell's shop owners eager to attract customers once again.

"We've really seen an impact on sales," says Marilyn Kuntz, owner of A Paris Flea Market. "We've seen fewer people stop in."

To inspire Powell residents and visitors alike to check out their quaint downtown shopping strip, Kuntz and other area shop owners will offer special deals and extended hour on Saturday, June 21. Historic Downtown Powell Inc., which launched a Shop Local, Shop Powell campaign last fall, is spearheading the day-long event.
