At Pickerington-based The Ritzy Rose, you won’t find traditional lapel flowers. Instead, husband-and-wife duo Jennifer and Jason Diehl offer more than 100 unique boutonnieres, aimed at capturing a groom’s interests or personality. For gearheads, there’s a spark plug boutonniere; for hunters, a shotgun shell; and for gamers, a Nintendo chip. “Most guys don’t get too excited about traditional flower lapels,” Jennifer says. “But these last forever; they won’t wilt. And we just want guys to feel like they have as much of a choice as the bride.” Most boutonnieres include a rhinestone and an accent, like a dyed paper flower, to correspond with the bride’s bouquet. (Ritzy Rose also prepares bouquets, making matching easy.) Grooms can also place custom requests, which can usually be readied in no more than a week. Either way, Jennifer recommends making a face-to-face appointment. “It cuts the design process down from sending a bunch of emails to just getting together in one easy 15-minute session,” she says. Most boutonnieres range from $20 to $55. At Pickerington-based , you won’t find traditional lapel flowers.
