Due to popular demand, Velvet Ice Cream will open the doors for its 2015 tour season this Monday, April 20 - the earliest date in the Utica, Ohio-based ice cream maker's 101-year history.

In addition to the famous ice cream, guests can enjoy free Velvet Ice Cream factory tours, watch ice cream being made in the viewing gallery, play for free on the Ye Olde Mill playground, picnic for free at any of the site's shelter houses, plus much more.

And mark your calendars now for the 41st Annual Utica Sertoma Ice Cream Festival. Held May 23-25 this summer, the Memorial Day Weekend celebration famously serves more than 40,000 scoops each year.

Named by Frommer's as one of America's 10 Best Ice Cream Factory Tours, Velvet's Ye Olde Mill welcomes 150,000 visitors each year for tours, tastings and events.
