NEW YORK (AP) — Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota is working on a memoir.

Henry and Holt Company announced Thursday that Klobuchar is working on an "inspiring, witty" book about her life and how to set aside "partisan flame throwing" in politics.

The book is called "The Senator Next Door" and is scheduled for Aug. 25. According to Holt, Klobuchar will write candidly about her parents' divorce, her father's alcoholism, her rise in government and her advocacy for new mothers being kicked out of the hospital while her baby was in intensive care led her to advocate for the rights of new mothers.

Klobuchar, 54, is a Democrat first elected to the Senate in 2006.
