The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, kicks off this Friday, celebrating its 45th anniversary in 2015 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and beloved films. This weekend's screenings feature Alfred Hitchcock's 1946 classic, Notorious; there will be shows at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

And mark your calendars for the return of the Cartoon Capers mini-series (within this series) on Saturday, June 13, and Saturday, July 11. Both showings will begin at 10 am and feature classic Warner Brothers and MGM cartoons.

The 2015 series will run from June 5 to Aug. 9 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) and will feature 29 films over nine weeks (no films scheduled for the week of the Fourth of July).

CAPA Summer Movie Series ticket strips can be purchased now through Sunday, July 26,at the CAPA Ticket Center (39 E. State St.) or www.ticketmaster.com. Strips of 10 tickets are $25, a savings of $1.50 per ticket off day-of-show prices. Phone orders for striptickets can be placed by calling 614-469-0939. Day-of-show tickets to individual films are $4 and go on sale one hour prior to show time at the Ohio Theatre kiosk. Senior citizen tickets are $3.50. Kiosk sales are cash only. All tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come, first served basis.
