Emmys ending early nomination announcements

NEW YORK (AP) — The Emmy Awards are ending the early wake-up calls.

The Television Academy says its July 16 announcement of Emmy nominations will be held at 8:30 a.m. PT. Traditionally, the nominations were announced three hours earlier to accommodate morning television news shows. But the academy says the way the information spreads through multiple media sources now made it a "forward-looking" approach to show the announcement three hours later online.
