10 Events to Check Out at the 2015 Ohio State Fair

The Ohio State Fair is back July 29-August 9 withnew attractions and some great musical guests. Here's 10 events to check out when you are not careening down the Giant Slide or snacking on deep fried Oreos. Click here to view the entire 2015 Ohio State Fair schedule.

Ron Diamond, mental magic

(July 29-August 3; various times)

Ron Diamond, master of hypnosis and magic, is taking his skills to the Main Street Stage. His sense of humor and interaction with the audience will leave you entertained and, possibly, hypnotized. This is a great event for people of all ages.

Pig Races presented by 99.7 The Blitz

(July 29-August 9; various times)

No Ohio State Fair would be complete without the fan-favorite annual pig races. Take your kids or grab a friend and laugh as you watch the farm piglets race their hearts out on the track. These little guys are not to be missed.

Milk a cow

(July 29-August 8; 10 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to milk a cow? This is just one of the quirky events at the Ohio State Fair. The OVMA Veterinary Education Center is hosting several interactive events like this one to promote animal education.

Sabrina Carpenter with special guest Liberty Deep Down

(July 30; 7 p.m.)

Upcoming artist Sabrina Carpenter is taking a break from the Disney hit show, "Girl Meets World," for her summer tour. She will be performing songs from her album Eyes Wide Open at the WCOL Celeste Center. Tickets are $15. Local boy-band Liberty Deep Down opens.

Patti LaBelle is gracing the Celeste Stage with her soulful voice the third day of the fair. Tickets to see her perform are still on sale for $32. She is a must-see performer this year.

Jumbo Tic-Tac-Toe

(July 29-August 9; 11:00 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Check out this completely NEW attraction at the Ohio State Fair this year! From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the brand new Jumbo Tic-Tac-Toe board comes to life. With giant "Xs" and "Os" game pieces, friends and families can play on a painted game board located on the grass in Central Park.

Meghan Trainor: The MTRAIN Tour

(August 2; 7:30 p.m.)

One of summer's hottest pop stars is making her way to Columbus. As part of her MTRAIN Tour, the bubbly "All About That Bass" singer will be performing her catchy sing-along hits at the WCOL Celeste Center. Make sure you get your tickets in advance ($32).

Buckeye Hall of Famer and Bengal legend Pete Johnson autograph signing

(July 29-August 9; 10:00 a.m.-8 p.m.)

Calling all Buckeye and Bengal fans: don't miss football legend Pete Johnson at this year's fair. Take a break from the noisy fair and get some shade in the Antiques & Collectibles Building where you'll find Johnson signing autographs for what is sure to be a long line of people. Be sure to get there early!

Reptiles from Hueston Woods State Park

(August 5; 11:30 a.m. & 4 p.m.)

Who wouldn't want to spend a couple hours with some scaly reptiles? Don't miss the HuestonWoods State Park event, which is a great go-to for families and kids of any age. Take a break from the pigs and the cows and learn about some other perhaps lesser-appreciated animals at this year's fair.

Zumba Hip-Hop Fitness Extravaganza

(Aug. 7; 6-8 p.m.)

If you need a place to burn off all that delicious fried fair food go no further than the ShowPlace Pavilion. Zumba is great and fun way to stay active and it's a workout people of all ages can enjoy.
