Halloween for older kids

If your kids are outgrowing the trick-or-treating scene, it may be time to start some new family traditions. Several Central Ohio organizations can help.

The Columbus Landmarks Foundation offers several Ghost Tours highlighting different areas of the city, www.columbuslandmarks.org/event-calendar/ghost-tours.

Families also can participate in Haunted Statehouse Tours. Ticket information is available here, www.ohiostatehouse.org/news/2015-haunted-statehouse-tour-tickets-now-on-sale. These events fill up fast so order your tickets soon.

If ghosts aren't your thing, consider making a blown-glass pumpkin at the Glass Axis art studio (good for ages 10 and up), www.glassaxis.org/product/sculpted-glass-pumpkin, or at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens' glass-blowing shop (ages 16+), www.fpconservatory.org/The-Experience/Classes/For-Adults/Fine-Art-Crafts.
