Who: Four-year-old Avery Stewart

Where: The Columbus Museum of Art

When: Thursday morning, Oct. 8, 2015

The backstory: If you've ever met the Columbus Museum of Art's executive director Nannette Maciejunes, you know she does not lack for personality and smiles. So when Nancy Colvin, CMA's communications manager, suggested that Nannette's granddaughter might make a good model for our November cover shoot, we figured the apple wouldn't fall far from the tree and said, "Yes, please!"

And Avery, who was brought to the museum that morning by her grandfather George, was wonderful to work with, taking direction like a pro, even as our photographer Josh Bickel ran her through a couple of different locations in the new wing of the museum (which is wonderfully photogenic itself).

When she isn't serving as a cover model, Avery enjoys going to preschool where "painting and coloring" are her favorite activities and "purple and pink" are her favorite colors. She is very excited that she has an "almost a brother" arriving soon, thanks to mom Heather and dad Matt.
