You've likely strolled past this unassuming Short North storefront during a Gallery Hop or on your way to lunch. Maybe you popped in and thought to yourself, "Yeah, another jewelry shop." But if you haven't given Store 5a more than a passing glance, you're missing out on some serious value.

This vintage and pre-owned jewelry shop got its start as an online business three years ago. Store director Jesse Johnson got the idea while working at the Diamond Cellar, his family's store, and seeing how many customers were interested in selling their fine jewelry. STORE 5a opened in the Short North last year at 765 N. High St., Suite A; there customers can buy and sell jewelry, watches and handbags.

Most of the jewelry is pre-owned, though the selection also includes aged inventory from Diamond Cellar and reset stones purchased through Diamond Cellar's buyback program. All pre-owned jewelry is inspected, authenticated, refurbished and appraised by Diamond Cellar's gemologists, so quality is never a concern.

The store sells high-end brands like Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and Tacori, as well as true vintage pieces that often come in through folks who have inherited pieces that they no longer want.

We rounded up a few of our favorites below, but be sure to visit the store in person to check out the ever-changing stock for yourself!
