Styled Shoot: Elegant Statehouse Wedding

Emma Frankart Henterly

We're back again with another gorgeous styled photo shoot, this time from Kimberly Potterf Photography. Potterf worked with Jennifer Kontomerkos, of The Finer Things Event Planning, to design the session. Here's what Potterf had to say about it:

In a sea of wedding trends that seem to favor barns, outdoor venues or anything rustic, we wanted to do something really formal, classic and romantic. We chose the Ohio Statehouse as the venue with the "wow factor" in mind, as it also coordinated well with our palette and style. We played off of the gorgeous architecture at the Statehouse and went with a modern take on Old Hollywood glamour … Overall, we really just wanted to focus on the classic and timeless details, with a modern touch of glitz.

Potterf and Kontomerkos originally chose rich emerald green and gold as main colors because of the shoot's proximity to St. Patrick's Day, but we think the palette-which also includes black, blush and metallic hues-is perfect for fall as well.
