Real Wedding Wednesdays: Devin Conklin and JR Lynn

Devin Conklin and JR Lynn celebrated their first anniversary on Monday; congratulations to them! They were wed in what Devin describes as a small and personal outdoor ceremony in the Dock580 courtyard. The evening featured a "vintage romance" theme, with lots of personal touches: Photos of the couple's grandparents, handmade chalkboard signs and table decorations, and a dessert bar to celebrate the newlyweds' love of finger desserts.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening, Devin says, was when one of her friends danced so hard that he split his pants. "It made everyone laugh, and we knew everyone was having a good time!"

Devin and JR met during fall quarter of Devin's freshman year at Ohio State University (JR was a sophomore). A mutual friend introduced them, and they dated for eight years before tying the knot in 2015.

To propose, JR took Devin on a hike through Brown County State Park in Indiana. "While hiking, JR stopped me and gave me a hug," Devin says. "The next thing I knew, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!"
