Outside the Box

A modern spin on a photo album, AwesomeBox lets customers curate a custom card collection using their favorite pictures. Upload a photo for the front of each 5.25-inch card and a message for the back. Sets ($49 for 25 cards) are packaged in a coordinating box and mailed to the recipient. It's a fun and easy way to share favorite family memories. Because it's a web-based service, siblings and others can add photos to create a group gift.

Knock on Wood

Keep table rings at bay with help from the folks at Re:workFurnishings, who handcraft these coasters from repurposed Ohio barn wood. Each set ($30 for four) is custom-made, so customers can adorn them with the outline of Ohio or three letters or numbers. Show Grandma and Grandpa you're thinking about them by personalizing a set with their area code or initials.

Available at Re:workFurnishings, 757 Adena Drive, Unit B, Columbus, 43215; 614-657-6306; (Note the business will move in late December.)

Pretty Pottery

Some customers opt for inspirational quotes or song lyrics. The last day for Christmas orders is Dec. 14.
