“Traveling the Silk Road: Ancient Pathway to the Modern World” runs through Sept. 3.

COSI will be closed Sept. 4-21 for its annual maintenance regimen, which means it’s your last chance to catch two exhibits and two movies.

Sept. 3 is the last day to see two traveling exhibitions:

• “Traveling the Silk Road: Ancient Pathway to the Modern World,” the first companion exhibition to the American Museum of Natural History Dinosaur Gallery at COSI. It explores the first international highway, stopping at four major points along the ancient trading route between Asia and the Middle East.

• “Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science,” which uses real artifacts and hands-on activities to teach visitors about ancient Egypt.

Two movies in the National Geographic Giant Screen Theater also will end their runs Sept. 3: “America’s Musical Journey 3D” and “Backyard Wilderness 3D.”

The exhibits are included with COSI admission, but there is an additional fee for the films.

When COSI reopens Sept. 22, “Hot Wheels: Race to Win” will offer the chance to play and learn with die-cast and life-size vehicles. The traveling exhibit, from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Mattel, uses science, technology, engineering and mathematics principals. The Hot Wheels exhibit will run through Jan. 6.
