Take Note: 'Parent' Has a New Online Events Calendar
ColumbusParent.com now features a new and improved interactive events calendar.
We, and other Dispatch Media Group publications, made the switch to improve the experience of our readers and website visitors.
Users may still submit as many events as they want to the calendar, which is now linked to the Evvnt platform. You must create an account, but there is no charge to do so. Basic listings are free, and upgraded options are available.
You’ll find the calendar on our home page, or click on “Events” in the top navigation bar.
To submit a listing, click on “Promote Your Event” in the top right corner of the page. You can import an event from Eventbrite or create a new listing. For your submission to appear on ColumbusParent.com, choose one of the Kids & Family categories (but please do this only if your event is truly for children and families). Once your event is submitted, it should be live on the site within a few minutes. Select online events also appear in our print-edition calendar on a space-available basis.
If you’re looking for things to do, click on “Events” to bring up the full calendar, which also contains listings from other DMG publications’ calendars. You can search events in nine categories as well as by keyword, location or venue. Or, search by date; options include today, tomorrow, this weekend and more.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Your old login will not work on the new system. Also, if you bookmarked the old calendar page (the URL contains EvieSays), you’ll need to update that link. Events submitted through it no longer appear on our site. The direct URL for our new calendar is columbusparent.com/calendar.
- If you entered events on the previous calendar, please check to make sure your listing made the switch. We transferred as many as possible, but it’s possible some fell through the cracks.
- You can edit your posted events as long as you are logged in.
- If you still have questions, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or check out Evvnt’s FAQ.
