Coloring Book Benefits Charities
A Central Ohio women’s networking group will celebrate the launch of its third annual coloring book Thursday at a free, family-friendly event.
The Creative Babes Coloring Book will make its debut from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 at Land Grant Brewing Co., 424 W. Town St., Columbus. “The Great Outdoors,” created in partnership with Flying Horse Farms, features 46 pages of themed illustrations, games and other activities from more than 30 female contributors.
For each book sold ($10), Creative Babes will donate a creativity kit featuring the book to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Community Refugee and Immigration Services and other organizations. Each camper at Flying Horse Farms, which serves children with serious illnesses, also will receive a kit.
According to Marti Babcock, the organization’s special projects Babe (yes, that’s her title), the launch party will offer several children’s activities, including the chance to make friendships bracelets and a paper axe as well as a coloring contest.
Sam’s Fans, a nonprofit that focuses on providing music and art therapy for sick children, also is a partner in the effort.
