The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is offering free admission Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an offer it will repeat for Presidents Day.

Additionally, the attraction is waiving admission charges for furloughed federal workers and their immediate family for the duration of the government shutdown.

The zoo will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 21 and Feb. 18—both of which are days off school for most Central Ohio students.

Federal employees can visit any day by presenting their government ID or badge at the ticket booth.

Visitors taking advantage of the free admission offers still will pay $10 per car for parking.
