Swensons Drive-In Takes the Reader's Choice Award for Best Burger

After weeks of spirited competition, one team emerged a winner last night. And we’re not talking about Virginia.

Swensons Drive-In won the reader’s choice award for best burger in Columbus in the final round of our burger bracket competition, narrowly defeating surprise contender Street Thyme with 51 percent of the vote. The two finalists had been winnowed from 32 original competitors.

Swensons is an Ohio chain that was founded in 1934 in Akron. Street Thyme is a Columbus food truck.

Street Thyme made the finals after an overtime runoff against Pat and Gracie’s, following a tie in the semifinals. A Twitter and Instagram poll decided that matchup.

Readers of our print magazine already know that neither of these finalists made it to the final four when our critics conducted their own taste test.
